Okay, gang, you want yarn porn I'll give ya yarn porn. This is an 50% acrylic/50% cotton blend I picked up in Oklahoma while on vacation. I used it recently in a cardi for my 6 months old neice Gabby.

I'm A Ravelry Crackhead!!!!

Well I finally got my invite to join the online community of Ravelry. I'm offically cracked out over this site. I was up until 3am 2 nights ago checking the site out, joining groups, and slapping pictures up left and right. I love this place! I like to think of it was basically Myspace for knitters but like 100X better. Once it is open to the public, it's gonna be CRAZY over there! Also, if my secret pal is reading this....I've updated my SP11 questionaire and my ravelry screen name is sinnomen1977

Secret Pal 11

Here are is the questionnaire for SP11. Please be sure to post it in a spot on your blog where your pal can easily find it. Since your pal will use this to help create your packages you'll want to have it posted to your blog no later than August 15th.

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? I like cotton/wool blends, of course wool b/c I love to felt things and alpaca....I'm not a fan of mohair, however.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? I have quite a few needles in glass vases on my dining room table and some in a folder that zips up and fits in my knitting bag.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? I've been knitting about 6 months but crocheting for 10+ years. I'm a beginner in both however....and a much better knitter than crocheter for some reason.

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? I sure do!

5. What's your favorite scent? Hmmm....shea flower by Bath & Body Works. I love fresh, clean scents; not too flowerly. And I don't mind smelling like food either. LOL

Greetings from the mistake on the lake!!! I am back from a FAB-U-LOUS vacation and continuing to knit my little life away. I've finished the front panel of the Tuxedo Pillow and now I am working on the back panel(s). Also, I bought the most bee-u-ti-ful lavender/purple sock yarn (Lorna's Laces) while I was in Oklahoma City. Now I've never attempted a sock before but everytime I see one knitted up or the yarn, I'm just itching to try it out. So I'm using the LL yarn purchused @ Carol's Knitting Studio. She's not on the web (hey, Carol? Join the rest of us in the 21st century why don't ya?) but here's the address if you are ever in OKC.

Carol's Knitting Studio
9300 S. Penn Ave.
Okc, OK 73159
(405) 691-0892

She doesn't take plastic (!!!!!!!WHAT??????) but will accept checks (even out of state one's !!!!!WHAT?????) and cash, of course. She has the most beautiful, warm, inviting and MEGA-friendly shop. I thought she was very helpful, indeed.

Anyway...back to my sock. I'm using the pattern/recipe from the Yarn Harlot's book. It was also done up on a recent episode of Knitty Gritty. Ya'll know how much I love that show! I took a picture for ya'll to see, too!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Anyhoo, it's coming along nicely I think. I'll post better pics later. Here's the pattern if anyone is interested...,2025,DIY_14141_5489009,00.html
