I got THE best gift in the mail today.
A gift awaited me in the mailbox today from my Secret Pal. I was actually surprised she would be sending a present so early in the swap; I didnt expect to get anything until next month sometime. 2 balls of Knit Picks yarn (pretty purple socks for me!!!) a sock blank from Knit Picks also, the most beautiful stitch markers, and some Hello Kitty treats. I chewed the gum right away! Now I need to buy myself some of that cool dye they sell on the Knit Picks site and see how great a dyer I really am! Thanks Professor!!!

What's On My Needles....
I was recently gifted some Lamb's Pride Bulky from a friend on Ravelry and it screamed to me...MAKE ME INTO FELTED BOWLS!!!! I bought the book One Skein a while back and I made the tote bag but never ventured into the other patterns until now. Its like knitting a hat in bulky weight yarn. A rather tall hat but a hat nonetheless. Anyway this is also the first time I've knit something in the yarn and color the book calls for. I'm usually all about subbing one yarn for another. This yarn is sooooo soft and fuzzy, I know it will felt up great! Here's a really bad pic (this is starting to become somewhat of a pattern/theme for me in regards to my camera skills, huh?)
I was watching Buried Alive while I knit the bowl. It's a str8 to dvd movie with the guy from Saw in it. Just avoid this movie; it wasnt great. LOL
I also finished the first Tutti Frutti sock while I was on vacation in Oklahoma. And oh what a vacation it was! I got to visit with my best-est friend in the entire whole, April. Here's a cute pic of us together hanging out in Bricktown in OKC! We had a ball!!!
I can't wait til I can afford to move her here to Erie with me. Once a year just isn't enough!

Question of the Week #3
What would you consider the perfect amount of stash?
I don't think there is a "perfect" amount. It depends on the knitter. I have about 8 bins sorted by fiber and weight and thats enuff for me. And no, I'm not counting sock yarn. LOL

Question of the Week #2
As a kid, what did you look forward to most about summer vacation/break/holiday?
I think I loved going to Girl Scout camp the most. Thats where I learned how to do a square knot, light a fire and make the most delicious smores!

Tutti Frutti, please!
On My Needles:
Right now I'm knitting what I'm calling the Tutti Frutti Socks. The yarn is Lorna's Laces Shepard Sock yarn on US size 2 needles.
I just turned the heel on these socks and now I'm sliding up the leg seeings how these are toe-up socks. The pattern is a Wendy Knits pattern (toe-up socks with gusset heel).
Also on my needles is Monica. This tank top is for my daughter Aija (she's 7) and was in the Spring 07 Knitty. I'm knitting it in Cotton-Ease by Lion Brand on size 6 needles. I'm actually using the Knit Picks Harmony needles which are so sharp I actually got a knitting injury from. I've got a little callous/blister on my right index finger from pushing the left hand needle down. Here's a pic of the work so far.
Not much to show but then again, it's just a tube with a ruffle on the top with straps basically. Alot of people have knit this over on Ravelry so check it out.
In other news, I most likely will not be posting for awhile b/c I'm going to vacation to Oklahoma with my family. Wish me luck on the 17 hour drive down!!!

Secret Pal 12 Question of the Week
What is your favorite summertime drink??
I love Dr. Pepper all year long and I also like the blended creme drinks @ Starbucks during the summer. I even used to chew Dr. Pepper gum when I was in middle school. Anybody remember that gum?? It was yummy!

Knittin' and Sittin'
I spent some time @ Border's recently and I picked up these...The latest copy of Simply Knitting (a UK mag I like because it always includes a free gift with each copy) and the Harlot's new book!
The free gift was a set of cable needles which I used right away to finish up the hood on CPH (pics coming soon!)
I also started work on Amanda's Squatty Sidekick; a felted bag I saw on Ravelry. It's a free download on the Knitting Daily website. Here is a VERY bad pic of the bottom of the bag.
It's a pretty quick knit (it's knit with worsted weight wool on size 10.5 US needles). The only reason it isnt actually done yet is b/c I stopped working on it to finish the hood on CPH. All I have left to do on that is the button band. I'm so close to finishing I can't believe it and it fits great! This is gonna be my fall/winter jacket for sure! I love it!
